The information below is intended to assist in your interest in working with the BlackWebAwards. Please review it prior to submitting your request for contact.

Location: Black Web Awards is owned and operated by Linton Publishing, LLC, a Maryland based 100% Black owned company. Volunteers need not live in the Baltimore, Maryland area (or even the United States); however you should:

  1. Be able to speak and write English;
  2. Have your own internet access and computer;
  3. Have a working email address and telephone.

Volunteer Opportunities

  1. General office work: This entails general work to help manage the many facets of the Black Web Awards. Obviously, interested persons must reside in the Maryland area. As the BWA's grow, some compensation will be available. For consideration, some additional information will be required.
  2. Academy of Judges: The Academy of Judges is the all volunteer group that reviews all "at large" nominations. Volunteers should love going online and have some free time to do so. You can expect to review a few hundred websites, and complete an online form. You will work under a deadline, but will have an array of resources to assist you. This is perhaps the most important function in the organization for the BlackWebAwards. Volunteers are not required to live in the Baltimore area.
  3. Strategic Planning: These Volunteers will help in the overall organization for the Third Annual Black Web Awards. Meetings will be held bi weekly to begin, and will increase in frequency. You should have a burning desire to participate in all aspects of the BlackWebAwards, and honestly, the schedule availability to do so. Where other things are not completed, these Volunteers are going to be relied upon to make certain the finished project reflects excellence. The Black Web Awards are a global event, so knowledge of international trends online is a must.
  4. Marketing and Public Relations: These Volunteers are primarily responsible for the developing the public image of the BlackWebAwards. The BWA’s are a global event, so familiarity with marketing to an international audience strongly preferred. Persons representing organizations or companies interested in developing a marketing plan for the BlackWebAwards are welcome to submit their information for additional discussions.

  5. Awards Ceremony Planning Committee: It our every intention to have an annual event to present the Black Web Awards. Accordingly, this Committee will have the challenge of embracing, creating and delivering an event worthy of the Black Web Awards. This Committee will be responsible primarily for all aspects of the Awards Ceremony. Experience in organizing major events a plus.

  6. Other: Did we miss something? Maybe you know of another aspect of the Black Web Awards that need to be addressed. Tell us about it!
